Monthly Meeting

Meetings are held at the Sheraton Chicago Northwest in Arlington Heights. Directions and the schedule of upcoming meetings are below.

Testing (for people who wish to become members) takes place at 4:00 PM. See below to reserve a space.

Our Monthly Meetings start with a business meeting from 5:00-6:00 PM, which the five board members and any other interested members attend.

The games room at our Monthly Meetings opens at about 6:00 PM for any early-arrivers and game enthusiasts; most people start arriving around 7:00 PM

The general meeting usually begins at 7:30 PM with announcements from our Local Secretary, followed by a guest who speaks on an interesting topic for about an hour. After the speaker presentation, our hospitality volunteers provide an assortment of party food and beverages, and people browse and mingle. Conversation and games continue into the night.

If you plan to stay late and want a room for the night at the Sheraton, the $99 HalloweeM rate is available on Monthly Meeting (MM) nights. Guests who wish to make hotel reservations for MM event nights should contact Chris Edwards for MM reservations or Beth Anne Demeter / Marina Ricci for WeeM. All numbers are available in ChiMe.

At recent meetings members have played their favorite games such as Chess, Scrabble, Set, and Boggle, as well as current hit games like Puerto Rico and Blokus. Our game collection is pretty extensive, so if you have a favorite, there's a fair chance we'll have it on hand.

Usually about 60-100 people attend the Monthly Meeting. If you prefer a smaller group, try a "Games and Conversation" event, or one of our many restaurant gatherings hosted at various locations throughout the metropolitan area. Directions

The Sheraton Chicago Northwest is located at 3400 W. Euclid Ave in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Parking is free and plentiful. We'll be using the Woodfield 1, 2 and 3 rooms.

From Chicago

Take I-90 west to Rt. 53 north. Travel two miles north to Euclid and exit east.

From the south or west

Take I-355 north (it merges into Rt. 53) to Euclid and exit east.

From the north

Take I-294 south to Willow Rd. Turn west on Willow. Go seven miles to Rt. 53 south. Go two miles to Euclid and exit east.

Business meeting -- members are welcome to attend and voice their opinions, but only the Board of Directors can vote.
