Schools for Gifted Children
"The Avery Coonley School is a Preschool - 8th grade independent day school for academically bright and gifted children. ACS believes the joy and excitement of learning must begin early in life. "Cranbrook Schools, founded in 1922, is a coeducational, college-preparatory boarding and day school with 795 students in grades nine through twelve. Cranbrook attracts outstanding students not only from Michigan and the Midwest but also from across the United States and around the world. Cranbrook believes that, in today’s competitive environment, preparation for college should be comprehensive and challenging. We provide a superb teaching and learning environment that cherishes and challenges the individual, that encourages creative, critical and independent thinking, and that offers the broadest possible range of academic, artistic and athletic options."
"The Einstein Academy is an independent school serving the particular needs of academically talented students from age four through High School. Its founder Cathryn Ilani realized an unfulfilled demand for a school that is able to provide an exceptional education for advanced students, as well as being well-rounded and affordable. Coöperation between students, parents, and teachers is the foundation of The Einstein Academy."
The International Mansion: Language and Music School
Founded in 1994 by the Fermi family (of Fermilab), The Language and Music School is designed to create a personalized curriculum focusing on any participants’ academic, musical, or linguistically strengths in one-on-one classes with expert-level private tutors. This is supplemented by a mixed ages Spanish Immersion group which offers a social setting to all participants. The program also offers many impromptu opportunities to go on field trips — most on a local level — to the local businesses, receiving exclusive tours on how their trades work. Inspired by what the director and her son felt was missed during their childhood years, the program is frequently compared to Ad Astra Private School run by Elon Musk in California and Fusion Academy (a collaborator and more recently, a local partner).
MAGE is a not-for-profit private co-educational school for the gifted and talented, utilizing research based pedagogical practices to provide a challenging and personalized academic experience with exposure to the arts, character development and global citizenship.
"Quest Academy is the leading, non-profit private independent school for gifted students in grades Pre-K - 8 located in Palatine, IL outside of Chicago. The Quest Academy community values the individuality of each child and encourages each to strive for personal excellence. To learn more about Quest Academy, visit their website or call."
"Science and Arts Academy is an independent, not-for-profit, non-denomination day school for students from pre-K through middle school. The Academy is a member of ISACS. The unifying mission of the Academy and its Board is to provide intellectually gifted and artistically talented students with an environment supportive of their intellectual, artistic, creative, physical, emotional, and social potential which will enable them to develop their unique talents and abilities."

The Vanguard Model offers personalized learning of foundational skills in multi-aged small groups during the morning and engages students in collaborative projects and problem-solving activities in the afternoon.
