Title

Eclipse 2024 - Experiencing a Total Solar Eclipse

Description

Total solar eclipses are a phenomenon not just to be viewed, but to be experienced. On 8 April 2024 one will be traversing the east central U.S. (the last until 2045), and Southern Illinois and Indianapolis are in its path! Total eclipses occur when the moon blocks the sun's light from reaching Earth. The presentation will cover the geometry and history of eclipses, the fun of experiencing a total solar eclipse, and the safe viewing of eclipses.
