HalloweeM 45: The Vinyl Frontier
October 29 – November 1, 2020
Program Details 2019*
Byronic Heroes Then and Now
The "Byronic" hero is a classic literary archetype that has endured through the generations. Barnett will guide the audience (with plenty of opportunity for discussion) through understanding what makes this rather anti-heroic character intriguing both in classic literature and todays SFF in literature and film and all of pop culture.
Barbara Barnett is the author of the forthcoming Alchemy of Glass (due out early 2020 from Pyr), the sequel to the Bram Stoker Award-nominated The Apothecary’s Curse. Barbara is an accomplished speaker, having appeared at numerous fan and professional (writers) conventions and conferences, including the Mensa National Gathering in 2018. Her book on the TV show House, M.D. is currently in print in four languages and is considered the "quintessential" guide to understanding the show & characters
