Trust Me, I'm a Dyslexia Therapist

Description

Catrina has taught since the mid 1990s, specializing in teaching students with dyslexia since 2000. She has provided dyslexia training and direct service through her business, Independent Learning Tools since 2002. Catrina has taught students from age 5 to 18 to read and spell more effectively using the Wilson Reading System in public, private and alternative school settings. She has trained hundreds of teachers in how to effectively teach reading. Catrina geeks out over how much more we know about the brain now compared with when she started in 1996.

Presenter’s Bio

Catrina Hays, director of Independent Learning Tools, has spent over two decades teaching students and educators. She got her undergraduate education in Learning Disabiities from Northwestern University and her Master's in Special Education from the University of Arizona. Catrina has also participated in well over 1000 evaluations with neuropsychologists to identify learning issues. Passionate about her students, she never ceases to be in awe of their persistence in the face of challenge.

Deadlines

Registration - Join the fun at WeeM. Register at the door if you haven’t preregistered. The deadline for online registration was October 17th.
Vendor space - The deadline to submit the contract was October 22nd.
Lodging - The deadline set by the hotel for the WeeM rate was October 9th.
Volunteer Now! Get involved and become a star. We have a great WeeM every year due to the many of you who sign up to help out for a few hours or more. Sign up as a volunteer and qualify for raffle tickets to win one of the gift cards. Earn the coveted WeeM pin when you volunteer for least 4 hours.
Room Sharing - The deadline to submit your request for finding a match was Wednesday, October 29th.
Speaker/Meet & Greet/Tournament Submissions - The deadline to submit your proposal for a program, Meet & Greet, or tournament for WeeM was Monday, September 15th.
