Description

“You will only heal if you find forgiveness in your heart!” Why does it always seem that people want us to forgive someone, but don’t focus on the offender making it right? Instead, they make our valid feelings into their problem and tell us the solution must lie within us. In this talk, I will discuss what “forgiveness” really is (hint, it is not something for you to give!) and review some of the reasons others pressure us to “just let it go.” I will then discuss ways anger and resentment are healthy, necessary emotions and how to cope with Forgiveness Pressure.

Presenter’s Bio

Dr. Travia has been treating complex trauma for over 15 years using ACT and EMDR in a variety of settings with driven, gifted individuals. Dr. Travia is a Third Wave, strength-based, licensed Psychologist, EMDR Certified Clinician and Approved Consultant, continuing education provider, and authorized to practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology. When she isn’t treating, teaching, or writing, she is diving, socializing, or making art.

Deadlines

  • Registration - Join the fun at WeeM. Register at the door if you haven’t preregistered. The deadline for online registration was October 17th.
  • Vendor space - The deadline to submit the contract was October 22nd.
  • Lodging - The deadline set by the hotel for the WeeM rate was October 9th.
  • Volunteer Now! Get involved and become a star. We have a great WeeM every year due to the many of you who sign up to help out for a few hours or more. Sign up as a volunteer and qualify for raffle tickets to win one of the gift cards. Earn the coveted WeeM pin when you volunteer for least 4 hours.
  • Room Sharing - The deadline to submit your request for finding a match was Wednesday, October 29th.
  • Speaker/Meet & Greet/Tournament Submissions - The deadline to submit your proposal for a program, Meet & Greet, or tournament for WeeM was Monday, September 15th.
