The Lure of the Antarctic
Description
Are you interested in traveling to Antarctica? Which areas should you visit? Which areas should you avoid? What type of animal life do you want to see? What historic sites do you want to visit? Do you want to enter the huts originally built by Scott, Shackleton, and other explorers? Ken Levine, the speaker, has been to the Antarctic four times, including McMurdo Sound, the Ross Sea, the South Pole, South Georgia Island, the Antarctic Peninsula, Snow Hill Island, and many others islands. The presentation contains maps of the areas and dozens of photos including eight species of penguins.

Presenter’s Bio
Ken Levine developed an interest in the region after his first trip to Antarctica in 2001. He has been there four times including, McMurdo Sound, the Ross Sea, the South Pole, South Georgia Island, the Antarctic Peninsula, Snow Hill Island, and many others islands. His personal library contains around 100 books on the subject. He has visited museum exhibits on this subject in England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Norway, Chile, Argentina, Australia and New Zealand.

Deadlines

- Registration - Discounts for advanced registration are available through Friday, October 17th. (Note: Full payment is required by the appropriate deadline to qualify for the discount for which you registered.)
- Vendor space - Please complete and submit a Vendor Application by Wednesday, October 22nd. If you have any questions after reviewing the Vendor Flyer containing all the details, contact the WeeM Vendor Liaison .
- Lodging - The hotel is offering a WeeM rate of $129 through Thursday, October 9th, subject to availability. If the hotel block is full, please contact our WeeM Chair who will try to expand the block.
- Room Sharing - Email us if you’re interested in sharing a room by submitting your preferences by Wednesday, October 29th.
