Cyber Security - the Good, the Bad and the Ugly
Cyber terrorism is a threat to all of us whether we know it or not. It can happen almost anywhere, any time. Leo will present some recently declassified events and talk about the dark underbelly of the Internet where there are no rules, no laws, and organized crime and gangs meet to do their business. People don’t ordinarily see and can’t find this “Deep Web” without special software. He will give some tips on how people can be safer as they use the Internet.
Leo Doyle is head of the Cyber Defense Force for the city of Indianapolis, part of the IMPD Homeland Security Bureau. He also serves as a subject matter expert to the mayor, governor, and members of Congress. He has a degree in electrical engineering and an advanced degree in computer science. He first programmed a computer when he was 13 and has been involved in computing ever since. Leo started the first commercial Internet company in Indiana in 1992 and was a professor at Purdue.
